Wizard Heights is an entertaining fantasy series about a kid called Charlie who discovers a secret society of magicians living on a hill not far from where he lives. In the first book in the series, which is titled, The Legend of the Sorcerer King, Charlie meets a strange pale kid at Wizard Heights named Whitstable. Whitstable tells Charlie about a mystery involving a fabled Idol of Thebes and his cryogenically frozen grandfather. Pretty soon, against his will, Charlie finds himself drawn into a world of intrigue and secrets in Wizard Heights. In the process he draws the attention of several magicians who are plotting to overthrow the wizard council, and makes a friend in the form of Mr. Cleveclees, a magician who is practiced in the art of subterfuge.

 

 

In the second book in the series, The Library of the Ancients, Charlie once again is drawn to Wizard Heights, this time in search of an answer to a mystery. An Egyptian crypt has appeared within Wizard Heights. No one knows where it comes from and no one knows why it is there, but there is one clue. Upon the side of the crypt, are words written in an ancient language. In search of the answer to this riddle, Charlie and Mr. Cleveclees must travel through the caverns beneath wizard heights in search of the fabled Library of the Ancients—the only place where the mysterious script can be deciphered.
